Kevan Jackson -- Eagle Scout

On January 1, 2011, Kevan earned his Eagle Scout award. This is something Kevan worked very hard for, over a six year period. The culmination of his efforts was his eagle scout service project. Kevan refurbished a mini-golf course at Camp Tecumseh, a local Salvation Army camp. The course is utilized mostly by senior citizens, and it was very run-down. In fact, the project was turned down by many scout, because it looked too daunting. Well, Kevan dove in and made it a great success. The camp director was so pleased, and praised Kevan for the outcome. We are very proud of Kevan's accomplishment, grateful to all those who helped him along the way, and thankful for all that he has learned. Kevan at his completed project site. The project turned out very well. Kevan did an excellent job. We finished in late Fall, just as it was getting cold.
Pictures of the teams cutting and glueing down the new outdoor carpet. It was a challenging and sometimes very messy job. But, it turned out very nice. The course looked brand new when we finished.


Everything was re-painted, with multiple coats. Thank heavens we had plenty of volunteers.

Brad Weinert (our son-in-law) was so helpful. His carpentry skills came in very handly. We could not have done it without him.

One blessing of me being between jobs was that I could spend lots of time on this project with Kevan. I really enjoyed it, and it was rewarding to see Kevan do such a fine job.
