Playa Del Carmen 2010

For Spring break, we were able to go back to Playa Del Carmen. What a blessing. We stayed at Mayan Princess, where we have a time share. It is a little bit of heaven. We enjoyed swimming, body surfing, scuba diving, eating the great local food, and just laying on the beach. Here are a few pictures of the trip...

There are these little grass huts on the beach. That's where we camp for most of the day. With out history, Deanna and I have an aversion to sun damage, but we love to be on the beach, so this suits us just fine.

Are these two kids good-looking or what? And, they are even more beautiful on the inside! They are great fun to travel with. They are patient, fun-loving, willing to try new things.

Cami was determined to get lots of sun...

...and, oh boy, did she ever...

We went swimming and body surfing on a nearby beach.

We went scuba diving, one day in Playa Del Carmen on Turtuga (turtle) reef. yes, we saw turtles, but, sorry I forgot my camera. Then, we spent a day diving in Cozumel, about a 45 minute boat ride across the sea from Playa. It is one of the 10 best places to dive in the world. I first dove there 10 years ago, and wanted to bring back my family. So, this was a dream fulfilled. Below is a spotted eel...
That's the three of us, looking through a cavern...
Kevan and Cami swimming ahead of me, as we pass through another cavern. This camera is cheap and does not do it justice. Trust me, it is sooo fun.
A small-dog-sized lobster, about 24 inches long across his main body.
The end to a great day in Cozumel...
We ate out a few times. The food is not expensive there. And, it was delicious.
I caught Cami in a reflective moment, on the last day...

Ouch. That sunburn looks so much worse than it actually felt. Wish I could go back now! I'm missing the sun and some good mexican food.
